Learn About Lasers

Different laser types and the procedures they can perform?

Advanced Medical has prepared a list of some of the most popular laser procedures performed and the wave lengths that that will perform those procedures.

A word about laser recertification:

From time to time we get calls from customers that are concerned about new laser manufactures stating that if a used, preowned (gray market) or third party laser is purchased, they will need to have it recertified prior to using it , or before the manufacturer will sell them parts and accessories. In addition to quoting Recertification cost anywhere from 5k to 20k.

Yes some manufactures will use this strategy to discourage buyers from purchasing a preowned laser. As of the writing of this article, no state requires recertification by the manufacturer to use their system!

Serious consideration should be given if  interested in purchasing a new laser.  At some point your new laser may become a used laser for sale. A recertification fee can make the difference between selling your laser or watching it collect dust!

The following information is to help a buyer better understand what wavelengths are used for different procedures. New system are constantly coming onto the market and we will do our best to keep this information up to date.
